ECC Couture, a casual fashion brand specialized in shirts and blouses, joined FWF in January 2009.

At the time of the performance check, ECC Couture had been a member of Fair Wear Foundation for three years. However, given unforseen circumstances within the company FWF membership has been on hold from the second half of 2011 untill the end of 2012. ECC Couture has shown insufficient progress in implementing FWFs management system requirements.

The percentage of ECC Couture’s turnover that has been audited does not correspond to the required percentage of 90% based on the duration of FWF membership. ECC Couture does not asses if its delivery times and pricing policy do not lead to excessive overtime and contribute to a systematic approach towards a living wage for workers. When establishing prices, costs of labour are not taken into account.

The performance check in december 2012 aimed to set goals and requirements for ECC Couture as a prerequisite to continue its FWF membership. ECC Couture does not have a monitoring system in place in accordance with the FWF requirements. It was therefore not possible to assess how its sourcing practices such as delivery times and pricing policy relate to any potential non-compliances at the supplier level.

The annual social report of 2011 has been received in time, but ECC Couture has not placed it on its website.

FWF verified the financial figures in the supplier register of ECC Couture are accurate. The sample orders of possible new suppliers and the percentage of ready-made trousers are not included in the 2012 overview.
