A worker who did not want to disclose his/her identity called the Fair Wear helpline and claimed that the factory told workers that wage slips could not be printed out temporarily due to system reasons, so a payslips would not be distributed. However, the complainant claimed that all workers except for the sewing department received their payslips.
Due to the pandemic, the factory adjusted the overtime subsidy and piece prices in March 2020. The original overtime subsidy was 8 RMB per night if workers worked night overtime until 20:00. However, it was later said that the subsidy was reduced to 5 RMB, but no one knew exactly how much it would be. The complainant reported that the overtime hours increased but their wages were lower. The workers wanted the factory to issue clear payslips, so that they could know how to calculate their wages and how much they could earn in a month.
The complainant's requests are:
1. Distribute clear payslips
2. Publicise the piece prices and night overtime subsidy
