On 15 January 2020, a worker who worked at the factory from 2012 and resigned lawfully on 11 December 2019 contacted the Fair Wear helpline. The worker claimed that she did not receive a severance allowance for the working time served when she did not pay the Unemployment Insurance contributions including maternity leave for 6 months in 2013. She contacted the HR officer to ask the severance allowance and the HR officer said there was no severance allowance without further explanation.
The issue was found in audits in 2016 and 2019, the complaint is thus grounded.
On 5 January, the factory refunded the severance payment to the worker in accordance with the regulations.
The worker received the payment on 5 February.
This case is resolved.
