The complainant claimed workers are not free to refuse overtime. If workers refuse overtime, management penalizes them by not paying overtime wages of the last months.
FWF informed Hydrowear and Schijvens about the case. The members are expected to contact the supplier and ask for a reply within one week.
FWF has conducted three audits at the site previous to the complaint; the latest in December 2016
The case is under investigation.
All three FWF audits, including the latest in December 2016, found strong indications that excessive overtime occurs and that workers are unable to refuse overtime hours. Workers reported high production pressure. Management was not transparent about wage and production records, the audit team could hence not determine whether wages and overtime hours were paid correctly.
