Around tow hundred contract workers agitated in front of the factory and refrained from work on 30th, October. They staged a protest in the front of the factory on the same day for following issues.
1. Non-payment of wages as per Delhi state norms
2. Not providing leave benefits as per law
3.Not paying bonus as per law etc.
As the Human Resource Manager and contractor intervened and promised to resolve the issues they resumed work on 31st October.
On 1st November, all those workers were fired and paid part of full and final payment in the range of INR 20000-30000, with a promise that company would decide on who and how many of them could be hired later. Workers were not given the details of this lump sum payment.
During the monitoring audit conducted on 30th Oct, 2018, management informed that they no longer produce for the brand in this unit as they have moved the production to their another unit because of structural challenges like wages, rent and labour. However this could not be verified. Also, since there was no reply from the factory on the issues raised, deriving the conclusion remains obscure.
Since the business relation between brand and factory has ended, this complaint is considered as closed.
