There is no discrimination in employment Legally binding employment relationship

The complainant has been working in the factory since 2016 and she is currently 5 months pregnant of her third child. As it is her third child, she is only entitled to maternity leave, as per Bangladesh Labour Law. However, factory management forced the complainant to resign on 3 February 2020, as the factory management is not willing to provide the maternity leave. According to the resignation, the complainant's last working date is 29 February, 2020.

Now the complainant would like her job back with the right of maternity leave as per law.

New complaint

This is a new complaint that FWF has just filed. At this point in the procedure, the complaint is pending investigation, and FWF has not yet proven it to be grounded. Updates to the investigation will follow. The brand is requested to share the complaint with factory management and to get their perspective. Ideally, this includes obtaining documental evidence in addition to a statement from management.
