The complainant was a probationary worker in hand stitching department who joined the factory on 10 September 2017. He/she called to complain about her supervisor who terminated her on 2 November, 2017 because of his/her low efficiency.
According to the complainant, he/she is not skilful since she is a new worker but she worked hard to compete the daily quota. The daily abusive language and constant intimidation on giving warning letter if the workers fail to meet the target by the supervisor made his/her and the other workers felt fairly pressured that they even avoid going to toilet or taking a rest when sick or injured. When workers cause repairs, the supervisor fines 100 MMK per piece. The complainant claimed that there was no worker in hand stitching department who had not experienced such as monetary fine. Everyone is upset with the supervisor.

On 2 November, 2017, the supervisor told him/her that she did not have to come to work anymore because he/she could only finish 110pcs out of the daily quota of 280 pcs. It was his/her first time having such big gap. The supervisor also added that he/she should say that she resigned on her own will. He/she signed it without being aware of the content as he/she was angry and frustrated. One of his/her colleagues was terminated on the same day. The other workers were given warning letter for failing to meet the target on the same day.

The next day, the supervisor called his/her mobile phone asking to return to work. However, he/she refused and told him/her that he/she would complain about this termination. The complainant stated that she informed FWF on the termination not because he/she wanted her job back, it is because he/she felt that FWF should know about such unfair treatment and abuse on going in the factory and take proper action against the supervisor. When he/she was asked if she wanted his/her job back, he/she answered ‘No’ because he/she was embarrassed being publicly terminated and did not want to work under the supervisor anymore.
