The story of Nazma Akter, Executive Director, Awaj Foundation

Awaj Foundation is a grassroots labour rights NGO with over 600,000 members in Bangladesh. They strive to amplify workers’ voices for decent working conditions in the apparel supply chain. Nazma Akter started working in a garment factory at age 11. She is now the Executive Director of Awaj Foundation. In the video below, Nazma explains the state of the garment industry in Bangladesh as she sees it.
