Bangladesh wage report released

FWF and AMRF Society have released a new report designed for brands sourcing from Bangladesh and for stakeholder groups. The study highlights commonly reported problems with the way some factories have implemented the 2010 Bangladesh minimum wage law.

Based on offsite interviews with over 300 workers, the survey describes a variety of problems and practices that clothing brands sourcing from Bangladesh should be aware of.  It is recommended that these issues should be included in supplier monitoring systems.

The report can be downloaded here.

Alternative Movement for Resources and Freedom (AMRF) Society is a Dhaka-based NGO, whose mission is ‘to achieve a fair balance of trade gains among the stakeholders of industrial production systems.’  AMRF Society has worked with FWF on stakeholder development and country research since 2006.
