On 11 and 12 February 2016, staff from several Fair Wear Foundation member brands, gathered at the FWF office in Amsterdam to learn more about social compliance in the supply chain.
During the training, designed for staff who work on implementing the FWF Code of Labour Practices, FWF’s verification team showed our wide range of implementation tools, and talked about how to best implement the FWF Code of Labour Practices (CoLP).
Case studies gave the staff at member companies to see the CoLP in action. These cases were useful as a refresher for those members of staff who work with the FWF methodology already, reminding them of the latest changes on the Brand Performance Check. They also helped introduce new members to the FWF methodology. Issues of due dilligence and remediation were also discussed.
Staff at member companies said that FWF had a very useful and clear audit methodology. Also, that its multistakeholder character made the organisation a trusted partner. Finally, “the passion and expertise shown by FWF member and staff were among the clearest strenghts of the seminar, and I’d recommend the course,” said one of the participants.
