hessnatur wins Fair Wear best practice award - again!

For the second year in a row, German fashion company hessnatur won the Best Practice competition during last Friday’s annual members’ day.

hessnatur’s Stefanie Karl won the audience’s votes by enthousiastically presenting her company’s living wage programme: in the past year, hessnatur has collected wage data on nearly all of their suppliers. Now, the data are being used as a starting point to begin cooperation with the factories to raise wages, where necessary, towards living wages – one of FWF’s eight labour standards.

Runner up was one of FWF’s newer members, outdoor company Jack Wolfskin. As the Best Practice they presented resembled hessnatur’s, the hessnatur team graciously decided to share their prize – a two day training on working with the FWF Code.
