Fair Wear's response to EP rejection of the JURI position on Omnibus I proposal

"At Fair Wear, we welcomed the CSDDD, as it provides all the ingredients for a workable and impactful due diligence, creating real opportunities for improving the lives of workers worldwide. Although we will find ways to work within a new framework, the current watering down of the CSDDD risks limiting progress to the efforts of a few large companies and voluntary frontrunners.  We know from experience that this is insufficient to achieve systemic change for the garment industry. We, therefore, hope that during the upcoming negotiations, the focus will be on evidence, expertise and impact, to ensure due diligence legislation delivers for workers in our and other high-risk industries." - Annabel Meurs, Executive Director
