Driving systemic change in global supply chains

Garment supply chains involve many actors: brands, suppliers and their business associations, workers and their representatives. Real progress on improving working conditions and supply chain resilience depends on these actors moving together. Fair Wear makes that possible: As a multi-stakeholder initiative, we connect the people and organisations who are needed to turn due diligence into something practical, scalable and impactful for workers and business alike.

Lasting improvements require moving beyond individual action towards systemic change. Fair Wear addresses the root causes of labour rights risks in three ways: we generate evidence, grounded in worker perspectives and local realities, on what actually works. We bring stakeholders together around shared responsibility rather than isolated effort. And we support implementation on the ground, in production countries and within business systems. Together, this turns fragmented efforts into measurable progress for workers and business alike.

One approach, three roles

Our approach is human rights and environmental due diligence, or HREDD. We drive it forward through three interconnected roles: evidence and innovation, industry alignment, and impactful HREDD facilitation. Evidence and innovation ensures our methods and tools are proven in practice, industry alignment scales them across the sector, and facilitation translates them into real improvements across supply chains.

These three roles converge in our HREDD Hub, a due diligence management platform that helps brands address human rights risks and harms based on stakeholder-validated information.
