As a Fair Wear member, you get practical guidance to strengthen your HREDD processes, improve labour conditions, and build lasting impact across your supply chains — backed by expertise, stakeholder-validated risk information, and worker-centred approaches. Working directly with factories, workers and their representatives, and local stakeholders, you identify risks, address root causes, and build resilient supplier relationships that benefit your business and the people in it.

  • Connect with fellow frontrunners in responsible business

Meet and exchange knowledge with our community of member brands, tackling shared challenges together to make human rights due diligence more effective and efficient.

  • Build a stronger, more resilient business

Strengthen your supplier partnerships, gain clearer insight into supply chain risks, and achieve better internal alignment and cost savings through smarter sourcing.

  • Shape the industry agenda

Participate in Fair Wear's lobbying at EU and national level and help define standards such as the Common Framework on Responsible Purchasing Practices.

  • Communicate your commitment with credibility

Use data from our HREDD Hub to share measurable impact, gain independent validation, and promote your membership across your own channels and Fair Wear’s.

The following is included in Fair Wear membership:

  • Each member brand is paired with a Fair Wear Human Rights & Business Advisor, whose role is to strategically guide the brand in its human rights efforts, providing expertise and advise on issues such as potential risks, due diligence, and changes to policies and purchasing practices that a brand may need to implement in its supply chain.  Next to a Human Rights & Business Advisor, Fair Wear members get access to industry experts on production countries and supply chain risks such as gender, living wages, working hours and freedom of association. Webinars, workshops and pilots give members the opportunity to engage with our team of experts directly, ask questions, receive feedback or join a pilot to pioneer new approaches  that change the industry.

  • The Brand Performance Check is Fair Wear's tool for evaluating and guiding member brands' human rights due diligence — tracking their progress on supply chain issues and providing tailored recommendations to strengthen due diligence and impact. Brands receiving a Brand Performance Check commit to working in line with Fair Wear's policies, grounded in international standards such as the UNGP's and the OECD Guidance for Responsible Supply Chains in the Garment and Footwear Sector. Fair Wear scores companies against a set of indicators assessing how far due diligence is embedded in core business practices and aligned with the Fair Wear Code of Labour Practices, then publishes each report online for transparency — making the Brand Performance Check the most important element of Fair Wear's shared responsibility approach to improving working conditions in garment and textile supply chains.

  • Members implement Fair Wear’s grievance mechanism, both a last resort and early signifier of risks. The mechanism provides workers with a direct line to Fair Wear, allowing them to safely and anonymously voice their concerns and complaints in case factory-level grievance mechanisms are non-existent or ineffective. This facilitates access to remedy for workers in our members’ supply chain and allowsFair Wear member brands to identify harms and possible risks in their supply chains. Fair Wear publicly communicates about complaints received and action taken by brands, offering a living record of remediation steps. In this way, both brands and suppliers are accountable for what happens on the factory floor. Our grievance teams investigate all complaints and play a key role in supporting the complainant, brand and supplier in remediation; from handling the complaint to finding systems which help prevent such complaints from happening again.

  • Member brands have access to in-country experts who conduct Fair Wear onsite assessments (factory audits). These assessments measure a factory’s working conditions against local labour law and the eight labour standards in Fair Wear’s Code of Labour Practices, while collecting input from workers and management for accurate and stakeholder-validated risk data. Members also have access to Fair Wear’s workplace training modules. Workplace training is a crucial part of the prevention, mitigation, and remediation of risks in factories. Fair Wear offers general training modules on labour rights and access to remedy, as well as country-specific modules targeting high risks in specific regions such as social dialogue and violence and harassment.
